IPtux for IPmsg on centos8

Post by addmin » 2019/10/11 07:46:44

If working in a atmosphere of Bill Gates' Microsoft outsourcing ( like India ) or with number of windows users using ipmsg in LAN without knowledge of xmpp / irc / thunderbird, here are steps to interact cross-platform by installing iptux - linux equivalent of ipmsg.
Download iptux source from here .

Code: Select all

mkdir iptux
mv iptux0.5.3.tar.gz iptux
cd iptux
tar zxvf iptux0.5.3.tar.gz
./configure
If you get error with GCONF package

Code: Select all

dnf config-manager --enable PowerTools
dnf install GConf2-devel
./configure
make
If there is error like MainWindow.cpp:1527:33: error: invalid conversion from ‘char’ to ‘const char*’ [-fpermissive]

Code: Select all

sed -i 's#(g_strcmp0(remaining,'"'"'\\0'"'"'#(g_strcmp0(remaining,"\\0"#' src/MainWindow.cpp
make
sudo make install
It should now install iptux.
Launch, goto preferences and add all those in LAN.
