CentOS 6.1 release??
CentOS 6.1 release??
Well I just couldn't resist starting the next 800+ posts, now that the release of Centos 6.0 is imminent. All kidding aside, after testing 6.0, I am finding too many problems, so I have decided to wait for 6.1. Besides, Centos 5.6 is rock solid.

Re: CentOS 6.1 release??
Based on the 5.6 and 6.0 performances, my bet is 6-8 months after the official release of RHEL6.1...so sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2011. :-)

With 6.1 security updates available for 6.0 (until 6.1 is released) does it really matter?

Re: CentOS 6.1 release??
There is neither QAWeb post nor forum announcement about 6.1 at this point. So Alan (or other moderators), is there anything to announce now?
Re: CentOS 6.1 release??
Small questions to the developers who are eager to play with kernels:
* Are there some unofficial 6.1 kernel builds available for 6.0 and where to get it if it is? (ofc, won't request any support)
* Is the 6.1 kernel fully compatible with 6.0 userspace tools (if someone tried)?
Building 6.1 kernel myself IS an option, but maybe there is someone out there who already did that.
Why so desperate? In short: "RPS/RFS". I was (and am) backporting patchset of 21+ RPS/RFS related patches to 5.5 (and then 5.6 and 6.0) kernels for the BRAS project, and having these patches in mainline kernel may ease my personal efforts a bit.
