diff CentOS SL

Post by jlehtone » 2012/01/25 16:48:24

Hi,

It seems that I have to configure a Scientific Linux box as openvpn router. In CentOS
I would do this with yum, sed, and emacs. Are there any obvious reasons why the
same routine would fail in SL? I presume that SL mainly differs from upstream in
end-user applications. Is that correct?

Yes, you should be able to set up SL just like you do CentOS. FYI, you can see what packages have been added to SL 6 on this page.

... and because most anything vaguely related to EL goes in Social, as long as it's not abusive or spam.

I have not found substantial differences among CentOS, SL, and RHEL of comparable versions, except as relates to native repos, and different package options, as toracat mentioned.
