[SOLVED] wireless not working after upgrade to 6.3

Post by JohnAde » 2012/07/14 23:19:03

Hi,

I had been running with CentOS 6.2 for a few weeks with no issues. In particular, wireless was working ok after I installed kmod-compat-wireless. This evening, I upgraded to centos 6.3 and my wireless no longer works. Is this simply a known bug (http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=5834)?

Thanks

J

I have encountered the same scenario. Wireless functioned fine in CentOS 6.2. No joy after CentOS 6.3 upgrade.

[SOLVED] wireless not working after upgrade to 6.3

Post by toracat » 2012/07/15 12:50:06

JohnAde

Can you try uninstalling kmod-compat-wireless to see if the native (kernel) iwlwifi driver works for you?

rpm -e kmod-compat-wireless
reboot

Can try the same thing as what I suggested to the original poster? Your device is different.
