Hello,
I want to install an IBM Blade server in an IBM Blade Center with CentOS 5.2.
I have the CentOS DVD iso on an other server in the same subnet. I tried to do an NFS install but it doesn't work.
According to the RedHat Enterprise Linux Installation Guide I exported the directory with the ISO with the following entry in the /etc/exports file: /export/directory *(ro,no_root_squash)
I can mount the NFS share from an other installed Blade Server in the same subnet (not the server where the ISO resides) but I get the error message during install that the directory could not be mounted from the server.
I also tried to do an http install but the server also can't load the necessary files. From the other server in the subnet I can load the files with lynx without problems.
Has anyone an idea what can be the problem?
Thanks in advance!

Are you sure the path is correct?
Server
Directory
Replace the i386 with x86_64 if 64-bit. Otherwise the installer will not find the files.

Re: CentOS 5.2 NFS network install not working
Yeah, the path was correct!
I found a solution for the problem!
It was the VLAN configuration on the blade switch!
I thought the configuration was done by someone else but it wasn't!
I added the ports to the right VLAN and it works!
Next time I will have a look at the config before I start an installation! ;-)
Thanks!

Glad to hear you've sorted that out. Thanks for reporting back.
