[SOLVED] Struggling to install 5.5

Hi,

I am trying to install CentOS 5.5 from a DVD.
I have Windows XP on a disk and Fedora on an other.
I want to replace Fedora by Centos.

Here is my little story:
- I boot the PC with the cd-rom, it works until I select the appropriate keyboard, then it says " The CentOS CD was not found in any of your CDROM drives"
- I have updated the cdrom driver with no success.
I have seen messages from others telling the same story, the solution was to buy an other cdrom reader.

So, I choose to make a bootable usb stick.
- I used "LinuxLive USB Creator 2.6" to create the bootable stick using the dvd iso file
- When booting from the stick, it displays:
boot:
Could not find kernel image: vesamenu.c32

So ... I tried to install from a hard drive.
I have the iso file on the XP disk under C:\
(I guess it would not make sense to have the file on the Fedora disk as it will be my installation target for CentOS)
But I cant make it found the file
I can choose from: /dev/hda1 or /dev/hda2 or /dev/hdb1 (I guess this info is useless for you)
But I don't figure out what to type as directory holding images ...

I have read a lot of docs and postings but I don't make much progress ...

Do you have a suggestion ?

Seems there is a problem with your USB boot media creation procedure. See if [url=http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey]HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey[/url] on the Wiki helps.

Shame on me !
The original problem was due to fact that I burned the DVD at full speed.
I did it again at the lower speed and I have now a beautifull and operational CentOS
I will use it to study RedHat certifications.
I hope I will be more clever after that.
