I just installed CentOS 5.7. Everything runs fine except that if I leave the system alone for a while and maybe the screen saver kick in, then the screen becomes black and I just cannot make it wake up regardless which key I press.
I turned off "power management" to no use.
Then I add a line to /etc/rc.local:
sh -c 'setterm -blank 0 ....'
and reboot the system. Still no use.
I tried to configure the screen saver. But that screen is just blank and nothing there.
Any tip to solve this?
[SOLVED] Blank screen and cannot recover
Re: Blank screen and cannot recover
I found the solution:
I just did a yum remove the gnome-screensaver package. And everything works from there. The display stills go to blank, but I only to touch a key and it will come back.
Look like my gnome-screensaver broke.
[Problem solved] :-)
