Vncserver on a 64 bit CentOs 6 ???

Postby WillyV » 2011/08/03 10:56:50

Please sent me some feed back! I have been using vnc for years and just installed CentOs 6 on a new machine and can not seem to get the vnc connection to work right. I have gotten it to log on but only get a blank screen. I have read all of the post about blank screens with version 5 to no avail and my friend installed a 32 bit version and his works (he can't make mine work either) So we are down to thinking there must be an issue with the 64 bit version? A little help here.... Please! :-x

Will

Upps! Sorry my Bad! Just was (and still am) caught up in trying to get the system into production!

Anyway I commented out the lines the following lines in the xstartup file from the /root/.vnc

#if [ -x /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc ]; then
# exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
#fi
#if [ -f /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc ]; then
# exec sh /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
#fi

Not really sure if that was it ... seeing I was trying alot of different things but I think that was the last thing I did and it worked.

:-?
