First post here. Trying to install CentOS on my PC and stuck since a couple of days. Downloaded CentOS-6.0-i386-bin-DVD.iso and used Unetbootin to create a USB installation disk.
The installation goes fine till after GRUB is told where to put the bootloader and then I get the error: "Missing ISO 9660 Image"
The installer has tried to mount image #1, but cannot find it on the hard drive. Please copy this image to the drive and click Retry. Click Exit to abort the installation.
Came across a similar post in the forums here
Tried the steps oulined and mounted another USB drive (ext3 filesystem) with the CentOS-6.0-i386-bin-DVD.iso image but am unable to copy the same to /mnt/isodir as the size of the image is 4.4 GB as the filesystem on the first USB drive (/dev/sda1) is FAT32.
I copied the image to one of the logical volumes on the hard disk and tried to make a link to /mnt/isodir but failed. Googled and found somewhere on the Internet that a symbolic link cannot be created to a target which is on a USB drive - why, I dont know.
Wondering which is the image that the author in the post referred to above and how it got copied to /mnt/isodir. He refers to CentOS 6 DVD (DVD1) but I am able to see only a single iso image which i have named in the start of my post. Should I use a different iso?
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
