How to setup a cluster computing

Post by thinkagain » 2013/01/31 11:01:17

Hello to every one,

I need to setup a cluster with 10 nodes with centos 5 and I don't know how to do. It's the first time to me.

I have install the OS one every node, but now I don't how to setup the comunication between the nodes.

The master node as
an eth1 port for the comunication with the outside (web)
and the eth0 connect to the switch for the interior comunication.
All the others nodes has only the eth0 port connected to the switch for the interior comunication.

I need to use the cluster in this way:
start from the master node some executable file for computation (like cfd) on parrallel computing with MPI or openMP

there is some any that can explain to me how to setup the cluster?

thanks to every one and sorry for my english!

Setting up an MPI cluster isn't rocket-science, but not something one would explain in a simple forum post.

I'd suggest you google around for keywords like:

"MPI cluster setup howto"

You'll end up with tutorials like:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/systems/library/es-hpcluster1/index.html

Also, maybe invest in a couple of study books from Amazon? They have quite a collection on MPI programming...
