Postby dartron » 2012/06/09 14:44:09

Hi
I was trying to install kmod Nvidia driver thus the mouveau driver is turned off now.
The problem is that the X windowing system does not detect my screens: laptop screen and external monitor(Dell u2312hm) connected through VGA cable.

Here is the error:

X11 how to configure?

Postby pschaff » 2012/06/10 11:48:02

Please provide more information about your system by running "./getinfo.sh driver" and showing us the output file.

Re: X11 how to configure?

I'm also trying to reconfigure my X windows. I have no xorg.conf file, none of the configuration tools that referred to in my search of the forums, just xrandr. I'm stuck at a default 1024x768 default for an unknown monitor, and when I change it via xrandr, although it shows that it was reset, the display remains at 1024x768 after restarting x. Im using Centos 6.2. Any help would be appreciated. I can't do a ./getinfo.sh driver because there is no getinfo command available either.

Thanks.
