Destination host unreachable

Postby mperez » 2008/02/14 21:58:46

Greetings,

I have installed recently CentOS 5 in a Dell PoweEdge 1300, this server has 3 network card, but only one is active.
The network card active is eth0 ADMtek NC100, its parameters are (manually), IP: 10.0.1.5, Default gateway 10.0.1.100, mask 255.255.255.0.
when I try ping to any machine in my network I got destination host unreachable error.
The network point, cable, and card was working before (RHEL 9), but now is not.

Thanks for your help

Did you also edit /etc/resolv.conf to add your nameservers?
What are the IP addresses of the machines you are attempting to ping?
Do you need to define a gateway?

Why don't you troubleshoot it first without the XEN.

Try the following:

yum list kernel\*
inspect the output of the above
yum install kernel-2.6.18-53.1.13

You will also find that man yum is your friend!

HTH.
