Re: Unix AIX
I typed AIX download site into Google and obtained this list.
Perhaps something there will help you in your quest?

Re: Unix AIX
Thanks for replay but there are just links for AIX software.
I was hoping there is something like CentOs and RedHat.

Unix AIX
I think Alan was suggesting that someone at one of these AIX support sites would be more likely
to know something about AIX than a CentOS poster.
Ask your question where it is more likely to get an answer.

Re: Unix AIX
Thanks. I was just being stupid. I already posted my question on ibm forum.

Re: Unix AIX
No worries -- there is a chance that a CentOS community member uses / has used AIX and may have something to say . . .
Re: Unix AIX
I've used it but have nothing to say. :)
Seriously, I remember someone telling me it could be downloaded and installed using pearpc. However, that was an AIX support fellow, and I never figured out where or how to get it working (the AIX part, not the pearpc part.)
I'll just add one thing that might or might not be relevant. It sounds as if you're at a place that uses both AIX and CentOS. Keep in mind that bash scripts on CentOS might not work on AIX--I tend to use sh rather than bash, in an effort to keep scripts portable. (For example, use $(id -u) rather than $UID)
A very quick google for free aix download indicates that there might be a LITE edition that will run on PPC architecture. I have no idea of the limitations and registration is required.
