CDE on CentOS

Postby ivoarch » 2014/06/28 21:19:43

I wonder if anyone have tried to install and use CDE (Common Desktop Enviroment) on CentOS 6?

I have installed version 2.2.1 from source without problems. My problem comes when I try to start CDE, only shows a light blue greetings screen for five seconds and then returns me to login screen.

To start I tried from GDM creating xsession file http://sourceforge.net/p/cdesktopenv/wiki/Createxsession/

Also I have rpcbind running with -i option in insecure mode, also selinux is disabled.

Any idea how to solve the blue screen issue, or am I doing anything wrong?

I read

- http://mwiki.yyovkov.net/index.php/Install_CDE_on_CentOS_6

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys I've been able to solve the problem :)

This fix my problem with CDE.

Missing deps:

Code: Select all

# yum install xterm libXScrnSaver-devel

Code: Select all

$ touch .xinitrc .xsession

Code: Select all

cd /patch/to/cde-2.2.1/programs/dtsession
make
sudo cp dtsession /usr/dt/bin

Logout and choise CDE.
