Hi,
I've placed some new wallpaper (jpg files) in directories:
/usr/share/backgrounds/gnome and
/usr/share/backgrounds/images.
After reboot, I am unable to see these new files as choices for wallpaper using the settings tool.
Do have have these files misplaced - or did I miss something?
Many THANKS! in advance,
John Wilwert

Hi Gerald,
OK ... I guess I missed something here! Where do I find this "+Add..." button?
BTW ... I log in as administrator.
Again, THANKS!

Re: Gnome Wallpaper issues
Hi Gerald,
OK - I'm not seeing exactly what you are saying .....
The "Appearance Preferences->Background" menu selection is not working for me and I am not totally understanding the issue - so let me give a little background info:
Running CentOS 7.0.x, Gnome version 3.8.4 and the workspaces are generated as needed - I don't now if that is a factor or not, It's new to me and I like is somewhat.
The closest I come to a menu selection is: "Applications -> System Tools -> Settings -> Personal -> Background". No option is presented to the user to navigate to any directory which may contain files which could be used for backgrounds.
So, I began poking around in the Gnome help files and came across a procedure by which you could use Gnome's file navigator and right click on file and select it to "Set as Wallpaper". This actually works - yea!
I think I still may be missing something here and possibly using these tools very inefficiently - any thoughts?
Gerald, THANK YOU for all you help!,
