Cannot detect wired connection

Post by rongtler » 2018/07/13 08:47:36

Hi everyone,

I'm using Centos 7 on VmWare Workstation 12. The wired connection can't be detected and using "lpci -nn | egrep -i net" gives the result:

Code: Select all

02:01.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82545EM Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) [8086:100f] (rev 01)
What should I do to solve this problem? Thanks.

That controller should be supported by the CentOS kernel e1000 driver.

Which version of the CentOS install media are you using - what was the filename you downloaded?
CentOS 5 died in March 2017 - migrate NOW!

Hi TrevorH,
I downloaded the "CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1804.iso" file and installed it by VMware® Workstation 12 Pro (Ver 12.5.0 build-4352439).
