Does anyone have information about the release schedule for openJDK 11? I know it comes from Redhat, but you need an active support account to even read their notice (which I do not have).
Given that Oracle will be charging for their version of Java 11 come January 2019, this will become a big issue soon.
Thanks in advance for any help!
openJDK 11 release?
Re: openJDK 11 release?
Only Redhat know the support status of things that have yet to be released. That's not something they share with the CentOS team in advance.
However, if you have a link to a RH article about it then you can probably read that by signing up for the free developer RHEL subscription. For more information on the free Red Hat Developer subscription please see http://developers.redhat.com/blog/2016/ ... available/
If the article you're referring to is https://access.redhat.com/articles/3409141 then I can confirm that it is readable using the developer sub.

The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: openJDK 11 release?
That's the one, thanks!
Re: openJDK 11 release?
Given that OpenJDK 11 was released a week ago, it's likely to take a while before it ends up in RHEL/CentOS. Red Hat has a habit of not announcing any such dates in advance.
Re: openJDK 11 release?
Unless there's some timing issue, signing up for the free dev subscription did not grant me access to that article
Re: openJDK 11 release?
Nevermind, logging out and logging back in granted said access. Thanks again!
