I am posting this as my other post is waiting moderation.

This is not a solution as itself but i was able to work around this by installing the gnome-session-wayland-session package and then use the little cog/gear icon to select GNOME wayland before login. The 3 screens seems to be working as expected. Still need to live with a least responsive interface and re-arrange my display settings. And probalby a few more «session-specific» configuration.

i can't blame Wayland for the lag as my setup is pretty much custom-over-minimal and the hardware is getting old but i would still suspect Xorg to be the cause, or at least give a lead.

Hope this helps get your 3 screen back for now, i also hope this helps pin point the problem and resolve the issue. For me Xorg is more effective and wish i could still run it.

I tried the yum downgrade mentioned in RHBZ 1650634. It only downgraded xorg-x11-server-Xorg.

yum downgrade xorg-x11-drv-nouveau xorg-x11-server-Xorg xorg-x11-drv-qxl.x86_64 xorg-x11-drv-vesa xorg-x11-drv-dummy xorg-x11-drv-v4l xorg-x11-drv-ati xorg-x11-drv-vmware xorg-x11-drv-fbdev xorg-x11-drv-intel.x86_64

Still the same problem.
That's expected. With 7.6 out, this yum downgrade doesnt give you back the 7.5 packages. Xorg has already seen one update in 7.6, and 7.5 rpms are no longer in the repository.

Same here, after upgrading today to Centos 7.6 I can't make my dual monitor work. I have tested both with xfce4 and KDE.

I have two Dell screens on Quadro K620 [10de:13bb] via DisplayPort MST chain, with ELRepo kmod-nvidia and the default X11 Gnome.

As functional as before (Dell and/or NVidia continues to not do dpms properly through the MST chain).
Therefore, kernel + NVidia's driver + X11 + Gnome seems ok (for me).

In 7.5 Wayland did not function with NVidia's driver (not even single screen); the less accelerated nouveau was necessary. Haven't tested with 7.6 yet.

My bet is that your issues are due to specific combinations, rather than any single component.
For example, do you have a common theme that use of both IGP and discrete leaves "the other GPU" blank?

On boot:
* BIOS/EFI can show a splash. That does not use fancy 3D.
* GRUB shows a splash (by default). That does not use fancy 3D.
* Kernel writes first "plain 2D"?, then "framebuffer 2D"? splash? (I use no "rhgb quiet")
* X11 draws DM (GDM, lightdm, ...) in 3D?
* Desktop session (on X11 or Wayland) is most likely 3D

That should explain the "first a splash, then blank"; entirely different methods for producing output are used.

Hi all first time poster.
Thanks to all the people involved that make CentOS a great distro. Not sure if I should post this under a different post or jump on this one.

I installed a the new cent 7.6.1810 as a new install and all works ok. When I tried to load nvidia driver it crashed the X-11 and couldn't get a log on screen. According to the release note it looks like a X-11 is the problem, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1650634#c10. My question is will there be a fix forth coming in YUM?

I can confirm loudogse's getaround installing the gnome-session-wayland-session package
works for me (on all three screens). Thank you.

This is not a full solution though as I have applications that will not run under wayland.

Looks like we will just have to wait for patches for the X11 system.

Any update on the patch for this issue?

I have some users running on Lenovo M93 desktops with three monitors. Two are plugged in to the onboard intel graphics, one into a Geforce 620 OEM card. The monitor plugged into the card is only showing the CentOS 7 splash screen.

Thanks for any help or information!
