I can't start a centos 5.9 32 bit virtual machine migrated from xenserver to hyper-v

I can't start a centos 5.9 32 bit virtual machine migrated from xenserver to hyper-v

the boot is started but when the rout is mounted it fails to panic error...

CentOS 5 is completely unsupported. All of CentOS 5 went End of Life over 2 years ago and 5.9 is from 2013 so is now over 5 years old. The latest and last version of CentOS 5 is 5.11 and even that was from 2014 and last received any updates in early 2017.

If you are coming from xenserver then it's possible that you have the el5xen version of the kernel installed as that only runs under xen. Switching that out for the ordinary non-xen kernel might help. A more likely explanation for a boot failure is that the "hardware" presented by hyper-v is completely different to that presented by xenserver so the initrd doesn't contain support for all the devices in the VM. You may be able to rebuild the initrd to include support for the actual "hardware" on the new VM.
